There are many places on the internet where you can download free music. But PLEASE be very careful about doing this! There are many reputable sites, such as Amazon.com and others, who cater to independent artists who just want you to hear their music. However, some free download sites steal music tracks from performing artists by "ripping" them off CD's and illegally posting them on the web. Still other sites are run by malicious webmasters who get some kind of sick satisfaction from using those downloads as an opportunity to embed viruses and other forms of destructive or aggressive software or spyware onto your desktop, where it may steal your personal information or cause your hard drive to fatally crash.

The tracks listed below were recorded by Schola Cantorum solely for the enjoyment of people who love listening to fine choral music. All we ask is that you please DOWNLOAD the tracks to your personal computer and listen to them there instead of listening to them directly on our website. This latter process is called "audio-streaming" the music and it will use up all our website's bandwidth! Also, we ask that you only use this music for your private listening...Schola Cantorum expressly forbids its resale or use for any commercial venture.

We are sure you can abide by these simple guidelines! Downloading these songs is safe, free, and we hope will provide you much enjoyment. Getting started is easy!

First, you have to have an MP3 player installed on your system. If you aren't sure, check your PROGRAMS folder. Most computers running Windows 98 or some later version of it include Windows Media software. If your computer does not have a media player, or if you want to download an up-to-date version, click one of the following dowload links. This will take you from our site to download the player. When you are done with the install, please return to this page to download our free tracks.

Next, in the following directions, clicking the RIGHT mouse button one time is called "right-click", while clicking the LEFT mouse button one time is called "left-click."

• To download any of our songs, position your mouse cursor on the song title that interests you.
  
  Users of Internet Explorer: right-click the song title and select SAVE TARGET AS from the pop-up menu.
  Users of Netscape: right-click the song title and select SAVE LINK AS from the pop-up menu.
  User of Macs: Click and hold the mouse, then select DOWNLOAD TO DISC from the pop-up menu.
  
  
• Navigate to the desired location where you wish to save the file, or simply allow the file to be saved to the default location shown in the pop-up window on your computer [you can always move the file later].
  
  
• Finally left-click on the SAVE choice to copy the MP3 file to your personal computer.

Finally, to play a song, find it ON YOUR PERSONAL COMPUTER and double left-click the file name. This will launch your MP3 player and load the song into its memory. It may take a few seconds for the load to complete and playing to begin. Make sure your speakers are turned on with volume not muted, or you won't be able to hear anything!
